2014 Golf Outing registration form

The Upper Midwest Optical Golf Day (UMOGD) annual tournament brings together many people within the optical community as well as those with a common goal of sight preservation. Over the past eleven years the UMOGD/Sight Preservation Foundation has been proud to partner with the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind Foundation (MSABF), sharing their goal of enhancing the educational experience of the students at the academy so that each child may reach their full potential.

In 2013, the UMOGD golf event raised $48,000 for the MSABF and, to date, the annual tournament has raised well over $293,000 to benefit the children at the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind in Faribault, MN. Our fundraising efforts have helped to make the dreams of the students and staff, become a reality… from the playground, to the bike path, to the obstacle course, and, in 2013, with the "Education through the Art of Music" project…we are proud to announce…the Music Lab/Recording Studio was completed. It’s amazing to see how the kids have responded to this new addition to their music program. In the words of Nicole Zweber, MSAB Music Therapist…"Thank you for your part in bringing the magic to the music!"

Please join us in 2014 as we begin a new multiyear project with the MSABF to construct a six-lane, 400-meter oval track at the Academy. This new track will enable the kids to improve their physical health in a safe and dedicated environment.
